Engineering Kits

When you are developing a prototype system, you know that you may need an attenuator or a spiral inductor but may not know the optimal level of attenuation or inductance.

Ion Beam Milling, Inc. has addressed this problem with our Engineering Design Kits.  Choose from our 45-piece Attenuator Design kit, our 40-piece Spiral Inductor kit, or one of our many Microstrip Transmission Line kits.  Each kit contains a selection of commonly used attenuators, spiral inductors, or Microstrip Transmission lines. 

Attenuator Design Kit

The Attenuator Design kit contains 45 precision quartz attenuators from our 01311 series ranging from 1 db of attenuation up to 20 db, delivered in a convenient waffle pack.  The substrate material is Fused Silica Dielectric 0.010” thick.  Metallization is composed of:

  • Ni
  • Au

The standard kit price is only $400 and orders of up to 5 kits are available for immediate delivery.  Larger orders can usually be accommodated with two week’s notice.

In addition to our standard kit, you have the option of creating a Custom Attenuator Kit which includes 45 Attenuators you select from any of the standard attenuators offered by Ion Beam Milling, Inc.

The custom kit price is only $450.  Orders can usually be accommodated with two week’s notice.

Planar Chip (Spiral) Inductor Design Kit

Ion Beam Milling’s Spiral Inductor Design Kit takes more of a build-it-yourself approach.  Choose five different (.025” x .025” x .015”) Inductors from either the Ion Beam Milling standard product list (2 ½, 3 ½, or 4 ½ turns on Quartz) or the Piconics series manufactured by Ion Beam Milling.  The Design Kit will include 8 units of each Inductor for a total of 40 pieces.

Inductors are available on either polished quartz or alumina and feature a Ti/Pt/Au metallization on both sides.

The kit price is only $425 and orders are usually available to ship within two weeks of order placement.

Microstrip Transmission Line Design Kit

Ion Beam Milling offers our selection of Microstrip Transmission lines in your choice of seven different Design Kits.  Each kit contains a different collection of MicroStrip Transmisison Lines.
